Christmas tree doorknob cozy

 
CHRISTMAS TREE DOORKNOB COZY (sorry, no photo)
This is my own original pattern
 
MATERIALS:  Worsted weight yarn in a dark green shade, or Christmas green with the gold threaded through it 
Size K hook
 
Make 2 
Row 1: With green, chain 23.  Single crochet in second chain from
hook and each chain across.  Chain 1, turn. (22 sc)
Rows 2-4:  Single crochet in each stitch across, chain 1, turn. (22 sc)
Row 5:  Single crochet first two stitches together (sc decrease),  single crochet in each stitch across to last two single crochets,  single crochet last two stitchest together.  Chain 1, turn.
Row 6-11:  Single crochet in each stitch across, chain 1, turn. 
Row 12:  Repeat row 5.
Row 13-18: Single crochet in each stitch across.  Chain 1, turn.
Row 19: Repeat row 5.
Row 20-25:  Single crochet in each stitch across.  Chain 1, turn.
Row 26:  Repeat row 5.
Row 27-32:  Single crochet in each stitch across.   Chain 1, turn.
Row 33:  Single crochet first two stitches together.  Single crochet in each stitch across to last two stitches.  Single crochet last two stitches together. Chain 1, turn.
Row 34:  Single crochet first two stitches together.  Single crochet in next single crochet.  FOR DOORKNOB OPENING:  chain 6, skip next 6 stitches, single crochet in next stitch, single crochet last two stitches together, chain 1, turn.
Row 35:  Single crochet first two stitches together, single crochet in each stitch across to last two single crochets, single crochet last two stitches together. Chain 1, turn.
ROW 36:  Single crochet in each stitch across.  Fasten off.
 
Whip stitch front and back pieces together.
 
This is basically the same pattern as the candy corn doorknob hanger, done in green instead.  Can be decorated with ribbons and bows, or can get some of the miniature tree ornaments and tie them on or glue them.  Use your imagination!
