BUSINESS CARD HOLDER
This is my original pattern.
This pattern is for cards that are a little larger than "average." You may need to adjust the size according by decreasing
your stitch count or the size of your hook.
MATERIALS:
Small amount of variegated worsted weight kitchen cotton
9 mm pony bead or small button
Size G hook
FRONT:
Chain 19.
Row 1: SC in second chain from hook and each chain across. Chain 2 and turn. 18 SC.
Row 2: DC (double crochet) In first stitch and each stitch across. Chain 2, turn. 18 DC.
Rows 3-6: Repeat row 2.
Row 7: (This is for the flap). DC first two stitches together, DC in each stitch across to last two stitches, DC last two
stitches together. Chain 2, turn. 16 DC.
Row 8-9: Repeat row 7. (14 DC), (12 DC). Chain 1, turn.
Row 10: SC in each stitch all the way around work. Fasten off.
BACK:
Chain 19.
Row 1: SC in second chain from hook and each chain across. Chain 2, turn. 18 SC.
Row 2: DC in first stitch and each stitch across. Chain 2, turn. 18 DC.
Rows 3-6: Repeat row 2. Chain 1, turn.
Row 7: SC in each stitch across and each stitch all the way around. DO NOT FASTEN OFF.
Holding front and back with wrong sides together, SC in each stitch around with three SC in each corner, until you get
to the flap. SC in next stitch, skip one stitch, three DC in next stitch, skip one stitch, SC in next stitch, skip one stitch,
three DC in next stitch, skip next stitch, two DC in next stitch, chain 2, two DC in same stitch, skip next stitch, SC in
next stitch, skip next stitch, three DC in next stitch, skip next stitch, SC in next stitch, skip next stitch, three DC in
next stitch, skip next stitch, SC in next stitch, fasten off.
Cut about a three inch piece of kitchen cotton and thread through a 9 mm pony bead or small button . On front section of
holder, on second row of DC from the top, pull one side of bead thread to left of center DC, from the front to the inside,
and the other side of bead thread through the right of center DC, from front to the inside. Knot about 3-4 times tightly so
bead/button is secure. Cut ends of yarn close.
