NYLON YARN - THE KIND USED FOR PLASTIC CANVAS NEEDLEPOINT - ANY COLOR
BEADS OF YOUR CHOICE - I USED TWO PONY BEADS, THE ALPHABET BEADS FOR THE NAME, THEN TWO MORE PONY BEADS
ONE LANYARD HOOK, SIZE NECESSARY FOR YOUR DOG
SIZE F CROCHET HOOK

Put beads on yarn before starting.
ROW 1:  Join yarn to lanyard hook with a slip stitch, chain 1.  3 single crochets around lanyard hook.  Chain 1, turn.
ROW 2-125:  Single crochet in each stitch across, turn.
ROW 126:  SC in first stitch.  In second stitch, insert hook and pull up a loop, pull up pony bead, yarn over and complete SC.  SC in third stitch. Chain 1, turn.
ROW 127:  SC in each stitch across.  Chain 1, turn.
ROW 128:  Repeat row 126.  Chain 1, turn.
ROW 129:  SC in each stitch across.  Chain 1, turn.
ROW 130:  Repeat row 126, using either an alphabet bead or bead of your choice.

Repeat in like fashion until row 250.  Fold over last row made down to about row 200, and slip stitch to that row to make a loop or handle for the top of the leash.  You may want to do this more than once to reinforce it's strength.  When you're finished, fasten off and weave in ends.
